Cardanaslager
Een cardanas wordt ook wel een cardanaandrijving genoemd en is een onderdeel van een systeem dat bestaat uit een aandrijfas en een kruiskoppeling aan of beide einden. De functie van een cardanas is dat de as die twee andere assen met elkaar verbindt, die al roterend van plaats veranderen of niet in één lijn liggen. Een toepassing van een cardanas is bijvoorbeeld de koppeling van de versnellingsbak van een auto. Een cardanaslager is dus een lager die er voor zorgt dat de cardanas soepel kunnen bewegen. Een lager verlaagt de wrijving Als deze cardanaslager versleten is, moet deze zo snel mogelijk vervangen worden om beschadiging van de as te voorkomen.
